Public Health Services

DOH-Sarasota provides the community with a variety of health services.

Immunizations

DOH-Sarasota provides immunizations for everyone, including:

  • Children (including shots required for enrollment in school)
  • Adults and college students
  • International travelers
  • Senior citizens (including the shingles and pneumonia vaccines)

We also provide details on key immunizations (such as Shingles and Hepatitis, information and resources for health care providers, and facts about vaccines for those parents who might be concerned about vaccine safety.

Primary Health Care

DOH-Sarasota offers health care in the form of medical, dental, and other services for eligible people under age 55.  (Residents aged 55 years and older should contact the Senior Friendship Center for health care services.) 

Seniors (those 55 and over) should contact the Senior Friendship Center for health care services.

DOH-Sarasota performs and oversees many services to ensure the health of the community through its environment.  These include:
