We invite you to visit our modern facilities at convenient locations throughout Sarasota County, including Health In Motion, our mobile medical unit. There you’ll meet our team, which includes board-certified physicians, ARNPs, nurses, dentists, public health professionals, dedicated support staff, and more. DOH-Sarasota is ready to respond in times of emergency, having been tested in supporting neighboring counties in hurricane response and recovery, being deployed to Mississippi during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, and more recently with the H1N1 flu pandemic. Our Medical Reserve Corps trains health care professionals and other volunteers to respond in times of disaster. We offer many ways for residents to get involved in our community’s health. We invite you to become a volunteer, lend your voice to the Community Health Improvement Partnership (CHIP), or partner with our Healthy Sarasota County and Clean Hands Campaign initiatives.

Federally Qualified Health Center

DOH-Sarasota is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). No one is refused health care. However, everyone must pay their fair share based on income and family size. Proof of Sarasota County residency is required for certain facilities that handle referrals from primary care providers.

Primary health care services are provided under a private/public partnership with Community Health Center of North Port, Inc.
