Body Piercing & Tattooing

On this page, you will find information regarding the regulation of establishments providing body piercing and tattooing services.  These establishments must comply with Chapter 64E-19, Florida Administrative Code. This code outlines minimum requirements for body piercing establishments, including cleaning and sterilization of instruments and jewelry, piercing procedures, injury reporting, customer and other facility records, infection control training for piercers, and informed consent issues for minors under the age of 18.  Body piercers must successfully complete a State of Florida-approved certification course before applying for an annual license. Body piercing establishments may obtain a temporary license for special events that do not exceed 14 days.
