Florida Indoor Air Quality Toxics Program

This program was established to improve the health of residents and seasonal visitors by reducing exposure to indoor air contaminants including mold and mildew. Through this program, Sarasota County has a full-time environmental health specialist who provides advice and expertise about how to manage indoor air problems in residences, schools, health care, and public facilities. Our highest priority is given to helping solve health problems when a physician suspects that indoor air quality may be a contributing factor.

The Florida Department of Health maintains a list of indoor air quality specialists working through county health departments to provide indoor air quality expertise to the public.

The Florida Clean Indoor Air Act

The Florida Clean Indoor Air Act (FCIAA) is no longer part of the Radon and Indoor Air program, but part of the Bureau of Tobacco Health and Awareness. The Florida Clean Indoor Air program is responsible for the implementation and enforcement of workplace smoking regulations.
