Candy Flavored Tobacco Resolution Passed by Sarasota City Commission

At the Sarasota City Commission meeting on Monday, November 5th, SWAT members from Pine View School, Sarasota Middle School, and Lee Wetherington Boys and Girls Club presented to the Commission on the issue of candy flavored tobacco products. The Sarasota City Commission then voted to pass a resolution discouraging local vendors from selling these products and community members from buying these products. The resolution was passed unanimously (5-0), and the SWAT youth were praised for their excellent presentation and work they are doing in the community. The article Commission To Consider Resolution Against Candy Flavored Tobacco Sales was also published the morning of November 5th describing the dangers of candy flavored tobacco products and announcing the SWAT presentation to the Sarasota City Commission. Congratulations to Sarasota County SWAT youth on another great accomplishment!
